Pattern Play Day 5 homework

Here are a couple of cards for Pattern Play day 5 homework. I made the main blocks from strips of different pattern paper.

Thanks for looking, Lorry :o) xx

Ingredients:
Stamps: By the Numbers from Die-Namics.
BG papers: Sweet Owl by First Edition and Blue and Brown by Shery K designs.

Punches: Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border and Boho Blossoms by Stampin' Up!.
Embellishments: Ribbon, Buttons and embroidery thread from Dartford Market.

Pattern Play day 4 Homework

I based this on the card Jennifer McGuire made in the Pattern Play day 4 class. I wanted some extra yellow but I didn't want to add any floral papers so I changed the blue stripes with yellow ink and a sponge dauber. Not sure if the photo is clear but I added some dots of Glossy Accents to add some interest in the blank areas on the background star as well as making some of the tiny stars shiny.

Thanks for looking, Lorry :o) xx

Ingredients:
Stamps: Sentiment Sampler by Paper Smooches.
BG papers: The Sweetest Thing by My Mind's Eye.

Dies: Nesting Stars by X-Cut.

Punches: Small, Medium and Large star punches from Hobby Craft.

Pattern Play Day 3 Homework

Here is my homework for day 3 of Pattern Play. The card came together a lot quicker and much better than I thought it ever would. The tips in class are really great especially as I love really bold patterns but most of the time I just end up looking at them instead of putting them to good use.

I wanted to add a little something behind the banners but I didn't have any vellum so I used some tracing paper from Wilkinsons, it is a little thin but it is man enough to heat emboss onto fine and it was mega cheap, bonus!

Thanks for looking, Lorry :o) xx

Stamps: Sentiment Sampler by Paper Smooches.

Pattern Play – Day 2

Day 2 and another fab set of lessons from the Pattern Play class.

Here is my homework for day 2. I nicked one of Kristina Werner's card layouts again but flipped it to make it landscape, thanks Kristina.

Thanks for looking, Lorry :o) xx

Ingredients:
Stamps: Sprinkled Expressions from Stampin' Up! Dots and Gingham background are from the Building Blocks set from Clearly Besotted.
BG papers: Ad Lib Collection by Bo Bunny and Animal Antic by First Edition.
Punches: Heart punch from Hobby Craft and 1 3/8" Circle punch from Stampin' Up!
Embellishments: Embroidery Thread from Dartford Market.

Pattern Play – Day 1

I love pattern paper but most of the time I have no idea how to use them, especially the bolder, busier ones. That is why I decided to take the Pattern Play Class. The course has one of my favourite designers, Kristina Werner as well as loads of other talent running it.

Day one's class was about mixing different pattern papers together, something I always struggle with.

Here is my homework for today, I took the layout from a card Kristina made and moved the main sentiment. I liked how the first one turned out so I did another with a more vintage feel.

Thanks for looking, Lorry :o) xxx

Retro Sketches #53

I made this card for the Retro Sketches #53 challenge. I wasn't sure about it at first but it is growing on me. I am never that good with using patterned papers, although I have quite a lot in my stash, I end up just looking at them and deciding not to cut them up as they are too nice. That is why I am taking the Pattern Play class, it starts on the 18th March and I can't wait.

Thanks for looking, happy crafting, Lorry :o) xx
