Two Card Tuesday #3

Hello there, I'm back with my 3rd Two Card Tuesday personal prompt.

For these 2 cards I stuck to a very similar layout and tweeked it slightly so each one had a slightly different feel as I used the same pack of papers and almost the same colour scheme.

Thanks for looking, Lorry :o) xx

Switch it up Saturday #3

Hello again, I'm back with my 3rd offering for my Switch it up Saturday personal prompt.

This time I took one of my old old cards and changed the orientation. I kept the same shape for the main focal element but I made it a bit more manly by using muted colours and an image from the Wetlands set by Stamping' Up! Some ink blending and of course some twine and the card was called done.

Freestyle Friday #3

Hello there,

I'm back again with another Freestyle Friday card. This time I am making use of a little note card that was included in with a set of stamps from Clearly Besotted. All it needed was some spotty paper and some glitter card (which didn't show up in the pic) plus some bakers twine and the card was done.

Watercolour Wednesday #3

Hello there,

Today is number 3 of my personal prompt Watercolour Wednesday.

For this card I white heat embossed the fuchsia image from Clearly Besotted's Beautiful Friend set onto some watercolour card and used my Inktense pencils to add the bright vibrant colours. To add a bit more interest to the black strip I used my score board to add some lines for a bit of texture, a pop of pink card plus a sentiment from an old Stamping' Up! set and the card was done.

Stash Kit Sunday #2

Hello there,

For this Stash Kit Sunday personal challenge I used the same pattern papers that are on girlie version of Two Card Tuesday #2 card, the supplies were just laying on my desk and they were so pretty and I had the project life cards from the set and I just started making.

Trouble was by the time I realised that I was doing a Stash Kit challenge I had already made a big dent in the kit but I hadn't taken a pic of the stuff I was using, so for this week I have had to use the promo shots that are on the web, but you get the idea.

Stuff I was using as my 'Kit'

Here are the cards I made

I don't do Project Life but I just fell in love with these cards and had to have them. They sat in a draw for ages so I thought they would be a prime candidate for a Stash Kit Sunday as they are too pretty to hide away. I also had the 6 x 6 pattern paper from the same collection so it was obvious to use that as well. Add in the mix some bakers twine as well as some punched and die cut glitter card for accents, a few little sentiments that were heat embossed and hand cut out and these bad boys were done.

Three of a Kind Thursday #2

Hello.

The Three of a Kind Thursday cards this week are super quick and easy and could be mass produced if needed. Note to Self: do these for my son Max's Christmas Thank You's!

Card 1

Card 2

Card 3

This super cute set from Clearly Besotted really doesn't need much more than a sentiment and of course some googly eyes and then the cards are all done.

Two Card Tuesday 2016 #2

Hi There,

I'm back with the second Two Card Tuesday personal prompt of 2016.

I dug out my trusty notebook where I keep all my scribbled sketches, notes on techniques and any other card making notes that I want to refer back to, and found this sketch that I thought would be good to use for this challenge.

This one is for the Blokies

And this one is for the Girlies

I picked this camera stamp from Stampin' Up! for the main image as I hadn't inked it up in a while as I normally just use it for scrap book pages. I kept the sentiment (which is from Clearly Besotted) quite generic so it could be used for most occasions. The pattern papers are the only differences between the two, the bloke version uses the Travel Notes paper stack and the girlie version uses papers from My Mind's Eye My Story.

Thanks for Looking, :o) xx

Switch it up Saturday #2

Hello again.

I'm back with the second Switch it up Saturday personal promo/challenge.

For this card I dug out a pic of one of the first cards I ever made. I had quite limited supplies back then and I hadn't even discovered stamping yet, I had to print out sentiments from my computer!

This is my re-make

And this is the original

As you can see I stuck to the layout fairly closely, this time I used the cute hedgehog from, you guessed it Clearly Besotted, and coloured him/her with my Prismacolor Pencils. I white heat embossed the sentiment, mounted it all on some stripy paper from Lawn Fawn and the card was done.

Freestyle Friday #2

Hi There

Today I have got the second of my Freestyle Friday personal promo/challenges. This card was made a little while ago and put it in a 'safe' place which I have only just found!

I tried to keep the layout fairly simple so the coloured up Memory Box butterfly die cut could be the main focus but it did get a little lost so I added a block of pattern papers, a couple of leaf die cuts from Clearly Besotted and a sentiment, also from Clearly Besotted and it was done.

Watercolour Wednesday #2

Hi There.

Today is number 2 of my Watercolour Wednesday personal prompt/challenge.

I really enjoyed painting with the Sketchy Rose stamp from AlteNew, I think roses are one of my favourite flowers to colour in. I used my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolour set which I love, the colours are fab and the paint seems quite silky and is easy to work with. I fussy cut round the side of the flowers so they would stand out against the black strip. A sentiment from Clearly Besotted and the card was done.

Markers on Monday #2

Hi There

I'm back today with number 2 of my Markers on Monday personal prompt/challenge.

For this card I used the Secret Garden set from Sampin' Up! and the sentiment from a freebie stamp set from Clearly Besotted I got with a magazine. The Copics I used were R00, R02, R05, E79, YG41, G07 and G19. I made the tag from some scrapbook paper from my stash, I coloured the hole reinforcer to make it look more tag like. I added some stripe paper to make the flowers stand out more plus some sparkly bakers twine for the top of the tag, a bit of glitter tape and the card was done.

Stash Kit Sunday #1

Hi There,

Today I am back with the first Stash Kit Sunday. For this series of prompt/challenges I decided that I would make up a mini kit from stuff I already had in my stash. I will pick a paper stack, some extras to go with and then come up with a few cards from it all.

For this kit I dug out a 12 x 12 paper stack called My Girl from American Crafts that I got ages ago from TK Maxx. I looked for the papers that had a smaller print on so I could cut them down to 6 x 6 so they would work better for cards. I matched up some bakers twine, some sequins and punched out some hearts and stars from gold and silver card stock add in a couple of stamps sets and I was good to go.

Here is the basic kit I made up

And here are the cards I made from this kit

I got a total of 12 cards from this kit, the others are very similar to these, just different colour/paper combos, and I still have plenty of paper left over.

This is a great way to make a dent in my rather large paper stash. I think I have a bit of a problem as I just love pattern papers but I tend not to use them very often, especially the 12 x 12 pads. Cutting them down to 6 x 6 squares is definitely the way to go and I will use papers I wouldn't have even looked at before.
